Geoffrey T. Coffey, director of Native SpacesGeoffrey Coffey
Geoff lives in San Francisco near the grasslands of Mount Davidson, one of the finest remnant native plant populations in the city. He is the founder of Madroño Landscape Design Studio, a principal of Bay Natives nursery, and the man behind the curtain at Señor Café. He explores native plant habitats, landscape design, and the Bay Area's wildland-urban interface as a freelance writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, Bay Nature magazine, and other publications.

Casey Allen, directorCasey Allen
Casey, a long-time gardener and native San Franciscan, has worked with the local flora for over ten years. By bicycling to job-sites, avoiding gas tools and pesticides, and of course planting native, he promotes truly green gardening. Casey completed the City College Horticultural Program, studied with the Recreation and Parks Department and the SF Botantical Gardens, and volunteers with many other groups. He owns and operates San Francisco Landscapes, a design and maintenance company, and lives in the City with his son near the intact serpentine grasslands of Bayview Hill.

Brett Stephens, directorBrett Stephens
Brett is a garden artist from Texas who relocated to San Francisco in 1995 during a visit to this truly unique and diverse Franciscan bioregion. He began exploring, studying, volunteering with conservation groups. He has gone through the City College Environmental Horticulture Program, and presently has twelve years experience as a professional landscaper. He is a Certified Permaculture Designer and co-owner of San Francisco Landscapes which specializes in sustainable landscaping.

Hillary Strobel, director Hillary Strobel
Hillary Strobel earned a Master of Arts in Social Science: Interdisciplinary Studies, from San Francisco State University. Her thesis focused on community place-making via the adaptive reuse of old buildings. In 2006, she moved to New Orleans to found the non-profit organization Replant New Orleans and served as the Executive Director. She currently sits on the Board of Directors. Upon returning to San Francisco in early 2008, she started the consulting company Elasticity to advise on appropriate technologies, open source communication systems, and collaborative projects that encourage positive action in these ever-changing times. She earned a certification from the San Francisco Department for the Environment as an Organic Gardening and Composting Educator in the fall of 2004, and teaches workshops on composting, urban food production, planting and caring for trees, and sustainability.
